Yiqing worked with the lab as a Data Science Specialist – Epidemiologist during 2020-2021, before starting her PhD training at McGill University in September 2021.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and a Master of Science degree in Public Health. Prior to joining MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions in August 2020, she worked as a research assistant in the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Occupational Health at McGill University for 1.5 years. She has 6 years of research experience in the area of infectious diseases, and 1.5 years of experience in HIV transmission modeling.
She led multiple projects related to COVID-19, including studying factors driving the observed differences in the trajectory of the sub-epidemics within and between provinces, hospital capacity projections, and estimating the effective reproduction number.
